Ambassador Balayan visited the city of Urk

On February 8, Ambassador Tigran Balayan visited Urk town of Flevoland Province, which is the largest center of the Dutch fishing fleet.

At the City Hall the Ambassador met with Mayor of Urk, Cees van der Bos and the members of the city council. In his welcoming speech the Mayor referred to the centuries-old history and culture of the Armenian people, spoke about the Christian values, by which the city of Urk has a special place in the Dutch society, preserving its traditions and spiritual values, which provides an additional stimulus for the strong relations with the first Christian people.

The possibilities of establishing decentralized cooperation were discussed at the meeting.

Afterwards, T. Balayan visited Dayseaday Group, a leading company in the seafood import-export market of the Netherlands, toured the factory, got acquainted with its history and activities.

The Ambassador provided the company's management with informative materials and statistics on fish production in Armenia, discussed issues related to the implementation of joint programs.

The visit was organized by the Executive Director of the International Christian Council Hank Jan van Schothorst.
